Two years ago, researchers at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in Germany successfully created pentamodes, or mechanical metamaterials. Now, researchers have found a fascinating property in the metamaterial: the ability to hide or “cloak” the existence of foreign objects hidden within it.
